Home Rehabilitation Program

The home ownership assistance program available through Housing Kitsap allows homeowners the opportunity to repair roof leaks, wiring, address health and safety concerns and weatherize affordably. With this program, we offer interest-free, deferred-payment loans that are due:

• Upon sale of the home;
  
• Home refinance;
  
• If the home is no longer the borrower's primary residence; or
  
• After 20 years.

Whichever comes first.

Qualifications for Eligibility

1. An applicant must live in Kitsap County, outside the city limits of Bremerton. Unincorporated Bremerton is okay.; and
   
2. They must own their home, or be under contract to purchase their home, and it must be their primary residence. Leased land is okay.; and
   
3. They must be low-income. Income eligibility varies based on household size and the most current income limits defined by HUD; and
   
4. They must carry insurance coverage on their home.
   

Loans and grants are made available through the Kitsap County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The program is available to families that earn up to 50% of the Kitsap County median income – as determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
